What is the Nagpur Outer Ring Road?
The Nagpur Outer Ring Road is a four-lane highway around the city built by NHAI, planned at about 119 km. It links the major highways (NH 44, NH 53, NH 47 and state highways) and connects with the Samruddhi Mahamarg, so traffic can move between Hingna, Wardha Road, MIHAN, Jamtha and Kamptee without entering the city. Its southern and western sections, including Jamtha to Fetri, are in use.

What is the new 148 km ring road?
NMRDA is planning a further outer ring road around the wider Nagpur region, about 148 km long and 120 m wide, with four bus and truck terminals, including at Turagondi and Shirul in Hingna tehsil. In mid-2026 it was at the land-verification stage, covering about 1,236 hectares across Nagpur Rural, Hingna, Mauda, Parshivni and Kalmeshwar. Farmers have protested compensation levels.
